Do I need experience with 3D printing?
Not at all! Many of our customers are new to industrial 3D printing. The AD-F4 series is a practical entry point for signmakers, combining a workflow designed around signage production with software that helps convert existing vector artwork into printable parts. Additive Machines can help you choose the right equipment, materials and workflow for your application, with training and local support available to help you get started.
What materials can I print?
Most signage applications are produced using PETG, which offers a practical balance of strength, UV resistance and heat stability. Additive Machines supplies both light-blocking and light-transmitting PETG for illuminated signage, helping control how light passes through different parts of a print. Our industrial 3D printers also support a wider range of materials, including PLA, ABS, Nylon and fibre-reinforced filaments, depending on the machine and application.
How long does a print take?
Print times vary depending on the size, complexity and material used. Smaller parts may take a few hours, while larger components or full build plates can run overnight or longer. Many of our machines are designed for unattended printing, allowing production to continue outside normal working hours.
Can I use 3D printing for production?
Yes. Our industrial 3D printers are designed for repeatable production, not just prototyping. Depending on the machine and application, you can produce signage, tooling, fixtures, components and end-use parts in-house, helping reduce manual fabrication and reliance on external suppliers. Can I print more than letters?
Absolutely. While signage is a key application, industrial 3D printing can be used to produce much more than letters. Depending on the machine and material, you can manufacture light boxes, sign components, brackets, jigs, fixtures, prototypes and custom parts. This flexibility allows manufacturers to bring more processes in-house and produce parts on demand.
